Getting Fired Might Be The Best Thing That Could Happen in Your Career!
"Good luck is when opportunity meets preparation, while bad luck is when lack of preparation meets reality" The best thing that ever happened to my career was getting fired in the early days when I was most vulnerable.
My personal story includes being let go just days before Christmas. I went home that Friday evening to tell my young family that I had just lost my job and income. Kids in diapers, big mortgage, car payments, and my student loans looming.
From that day forward I've made it a priority to always be prepared for that reality. I found that being professionally networked has been one the the keys to my career successes. Whether it's being exposed to new ideas or people connected to future opportunities, visibility is critical.
My vision for the TalentBlvd platform was to enhance visibility and create a new path forward for multimedia talent. It's where the industry can network, learn from other's reels/resumes, get career tips/hacks from our mentors or blog, an finally, peruse the 3,000 open positions on the job board.
We welcome ALL, whether you are early or mid-contract, already have an agent representing you, or maybe even still in j-school, everyone is welcome, all will benefit.
This weekend you can change your luck with 10 minutes of preparation.
