Playing Time is EVERYTHING!
“When you do something noble and beautiful and nobody noticed, do not be sad. For the sun every morning is a beautiful spectacle and yet most of the audience still sleeps.” | John Lennon
My Father would preach we should forget about joining the No 1 team only to sit on the bench. Getting reps means everything in a career and if it means ungodly hours or playing on the No 2 team, so be it.
These weekend warriors get it. Look at Justin Michaels, he's already had ~60 flights this year and probably only slept in his own bed a half dozen times. Chelsea Ambriz works a Sunday-Wednesday morning shift. Oh yeah, fills-in on Thurs and Fridays when necessary. Who does that?
Rock stars like Dana Smith, Melissa Terrazas and Shelby M Trahan are getting up at 2am every Friday and Saturday night so they can get their desk reps on Sat and Sun mornings.
They don't complain. They know the power of playing time. Making personal sacrifices (sleep, relationships, family, holidays) to get reps is a small price to pay when you love what you do. There is amazing personal satisfaction from a great shift and that brings joy.
Do not be sad friends, TalentBlvd and I noticed you this weekend.
