Want to fill those open roles, it's time to rethink that hiring process.
Now is the time to rethink a hiring process that puts frustrated candidates through a half dozen interviews only to check the boxes of a meaningless job description or meet a hiring manager's unicorn wish list.
I've always hired for attitude, trained for skill. Attitudes and behaviors are interwoven and when times get tough, like a pandemic we haven't seen before, attitude might be the only predictor of future behavior.
I'd suggest that you ask these three questions and the candidate's answers will tell you literally 90% of what you really need to know, specifically:
1. Do you work hard?
2. Do you fun?
3. Do you get shit done?
If an interested candidate can demonstrate mastery of the three and you can train for skill gaps, BOOM!
At TalentBlvd, our most most productive hiring managers get it, literally putting offers together in 24-48 hours after 1 or 2 successful ZOOM interviews. Can you afford to lose a candidate to a competitor because your senior leader can't find time on their calendar for an interview?
I'd be remiss if I didn't challenge our talent candidates to be prepared going into the very first interview to demonstrate your mastery of work ethic, results, and most importantly, a can and will attitude.
It's not that complicated. Really.
