I'm thrilled to announce that Myrna Brown will be joining TalentBlvd.com as a Senior Talent Mentor. Myrna and I have been associated for more than a decade and she is an amazing addition to our team.
In short, her producing background at Atlanta's No 1 station, Cox Media Group's WSB-TV, and her work on WORLD News Group a global podcast platform, are invaluable coaching tools for TalentBlvd.com clients. Here's a little more detail on Myrna Brown's career and the journey that led her to us today.
Myrna Brown is a multiple Emmy-award winner. After graduating from the University of South Alabama, she began her career as a part-time radio announcer in her hometown of Mobile, Alabama. While still in Mobile, she transitioned to television news and worked as a reporter/producer for the CBS affiliate. Her work in television also included a three-year stint in High Point, North Carolina.
Myrna spent the next 13 years at Turner (Turner Broadcasting System, Inc), working as a producer and eventually serving as Director of Community Affairs and host for the public affairs show, TBS Storyline. During that time, she returned to school and received her Master of Arts in Apologetics from Luther Rice Seminary.
Next stop was 11 years as the writer/producer for WSB-TV Channel 2 public affairs show, People 2 People. Myrna is the past president of the Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
In 2016, God began calling Myrna out of that 30 -plus-year career in secular television and radio. In 2017, Myrna was introduced to WORLD News Group and to the podcast, The World And Everything In It, biblically objective journalism that informs, educates and inspires. The daily podcast is a Top 100 News show on Apple Podcasts/ITunes. Today, Myrna serves as a freelance senior correspondent and co- host for the podcast as well as a reporter and fill-in host for WORLD Watch, World’s video news program for students.
Myrna is married to Stanley Brown, a veteran IT professional at Hewlett Packard Enterprises. They make their home in Atlanta. Between them they have four adult children, Travis, Kelsey, Kayla and Joshua. The Browns serve both blended and traditional families through their ministry, Blended Covenant Living. Myrna enjoys cycling and exploring small towns with Stanley.
